Our Story

A team that actually knows these streets

TourGuideTaj began with one government-approved guide, Riyaz Khan, and grew into a small team held to the same standard: proper licensing, fluent English, and a private, unhurried way of showing North India.

How we work

Most tour packages are built around a bus schedule and a script. Ours are built around a conversation — what you actually want to see, how much time you have, and what pace suits you. That's only possible with guides who are licensed, experienced, and free to adjust a day on the spot rather than following a fixed route.

Every guide on our team is a Government of India approved tour guide, fluent in English, with real, ongoing experience across Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and beyond — not a freelancer hired for the day.

Founded by Riyaz Khan

Riyaz Khan founded TourGuideTaj after years of guiding travelers through North India independently. He still guides tours personally, and the guides who work alongside him are held to the exact standard he built the business on: government licensing, direct communication, and treating a tour as a conversation, not a script.

"A good guide doesn't just show you a monument — they tell you why it still matters." That's still the standard every tour here is measured against.

Why it's structured this way

Booking directly with us — instead of through a hotel concierge or an online travel agency — means no markup, and a guide who's confirmed before you pay, not assigned on the day. It also means the person managing your enquiry has actually walked the route you're asking about.

Credentials

What "government-approved" actually means

Licensed guiding

Every guide is certified under India's official tour guide licensing system — not a freelancer working without credentials.

15+ years in the field

Full-time, professional guiding — not a side gig between other jobs.

Fluent, English-led tours

Every tour is guided directly in English — no translator, no relay.
